Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how ScheduleLab, LLC collects, uses, and discloses your information when you use our website (including https://www.schedulelab.io) and our mobile app ScheduleLab iOS and Android (together, the “Service”). Information We Collect

We do not offer user accounts, and we do not ask for your name to use the Service. The information we collect depends on whether you use our website or our app.

On our website (including https://www.schedulelab.io)

  • College requests: when you request that we add a college, we collect the college name, an optional acronym, and, if you choose to provide it, an email address so we can follow up or notify you when the college is added.
  • Usage analytics: we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. This includes pages viewed and site interactions such as college searches (including the search text), college pages viewed, app download links clicked, and college request submissions. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies and collects information such as your approximate location, browser, and device type.

In our app (ScheduleLab for Colleges)

  • Your selected college and schedules: the college you select and the courses, preferences, and schedules you build are stored on your device to provide the app’s features.
  • Usage analytics: the app sends usage events to our servers to help us understand how the app is used and improve it. These events include a randomly generated identifier for your installation (not tied to your name or contact information), a session identifier, the event name and time, your app version and platform, your selected college, and schedule details such as course identifiers.
  • Crash reports and diagnostics: we use Sentry to collect crash reports and similar technical information (such as device model, operating system version, and app version) to help us find and fix bugs.
  • Advertising data: the free version of the app shows ads through Google AdMob. See the Advertising section below for details on what is collected and the choices you have.
  • Feedback: if you submit feedback in the app, we collect your message and, if you choose to provide it, your email address so we can respond.
  • Purchases: Pro purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not receive your name, billing address, or payment card details; we receive only the information needed to confirm your purchase and unlock Pro features.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Providing the app’s features, such as building schedules for your selected college
  • Deciding which colleges to support next and notifying you if you asked us to
  • Finding and fixing bugs and crashes
  • Understanding how the Service is used so we can improve it
  • Showing ads in the free version of the app, which help keep it free
  • Confirming Pro purchases and unlocking Pro features
  • Responding to feedback and support requests

If we want to use your information for any other purpose, we will ask you for consent and will use your information only on receiving your consent and then, only for the purpose(s) for which you grant consent unless we are required to do otherwise by law.

Advertising

The free version of the app shows ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use information such as your device’s advertising identifier, IP address, and general device information to serve and measure ads. Upgrading to Pro removes ads from the app.

You have choices about how this data is used:

  • On iOS, the App Tracking Transparency prompt lets you allow or deny tracking, and you can change your choice at any time in your device settings under Privacy & Security → Tracking. If you deny tracking, you will still see ads, but they will not be personalized using your activity across other apps.
  • On Android, where required, a consent form is shown before ads are loaded, and you can choose whether to allow personalized ads. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the Service. Each processes data as described in its own privacy policy:

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties except as described in this Privacy Policy or as required by law.

Data Retention

We keep the information described in this policy only as long as we need it for the purposes above — for example, college requests are kept while we evaluate and add colleges, and analytics and crash data are kept while they are useful for improving the Service. Schedules and preferences stored on your device remain there until you delete them or uninstall the app. You can ask us to delete information we hold about you by emailing support@schedulelab.io.

Children’s Privacy

The Service is intended for college students and prospective college students and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@schedulelab.io and we will delete it.

Your Rights

Depending on the law that applies, you may have a right to access and rectify or erase your personal data or receive a copy of your personal data, restrict or object to the active processing of your data, ask us to share (port) your personal information to another entity, withdraw any consent you provided to us to process your data, a right to lodge a complaint with a statutory authority and such other rights as may be relevant under applicable laws. To exercise these rights, you can write to us at support@schedulelab.io. We will respond to your request in accordance with applicable law.

Do note that if you do not allow us to collect or process the required personal information or withdraw the consent to process the same for the required purposes, you may not be able to access or use the services for which your information was sought.

Security

The security of your information is important to us and we will use reasonable security measures to prevent the loss, misuse or unauthorized alteration of your information under our control. However, given the inherent risks, we cannot guarantee absolute security and consequently, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us and you do so at your own risk.

Grievance / Data Protection Officer

If you have any queries or concerns about the processing of your information that is available with us, you may email our staff at support@schedulelab.io or by contacting us at our mailing address. We will address your concerns in accordance with applicable law.
